Theresa H. Small, AuD, CPS/A

President

 

Theresa H. Small, Au.D., CPS/A is an occupational audiologist consultant, CAOHC certified professional supervisor and owner of Associates In Audiology, Inc., a professional consulting firm specializing in occupational audiology, and hearing loss prevention. Dr. Small has been practicing audiology since 1999, with a 100% focus on hearing loss prevention since 2007. Her primary responsibilities are professional review of hearing loss prevention programs to ensure effective protection from noise hazards to employees and regulatory compliance or best practices for employers. Specifically, services include audiometric database analysis and management, audiometric testing, assessment of hearing protection devices, work related determinations, seminars and employee/employer education. She also conducts employee noise exposure assessments through dosimetry and area noise surveys for both hearing loss prevention and regulatory compliance. In addition, Dr. Small teaches courses that lead to certification as an occupational hearing conservationist from the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). These courses are offered locally and internationally.

Emily Wakefield, AuD, CPS/A

Audiologist

 

Dr. Emily Wakefield is a native to Colorado and grew up on a small farm.  She did not travel far from home to attend the University of Northern Colorado where she earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate in Audiology.  Her interest in hearing conservation began during her clinical doctorate program with her advisor, Dr. Deanna Meinke, whose passion ignited Emily's interest in the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss. Dr. Wakefield is delighted to be working as a consulting occupational audiologist.  She is certified by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation as a professional supervisor in audiometric monitoring and is board certified in audiology.  Her current primary responsibilities for Associates in Audiology, Inc. include audiometric database analysis and management, STS and problem audiogram review, and work-related determinations.  Dr. Wakefield also teaches occupational hearing conservationist certification courses.
